AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR SERVICES
PERFORMED BY BLIND OR SEVERELY DISABLED PERSONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE PROVISIONS OF STATE LAW EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM
REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
(FILE 2353 - PURCHASE ORDER 93590, TEXAS INDUSTRIES FOR THE BLIND AND
HANDICAPPED - PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SERVICES, INC FOR PARKS LITTER
CLEANING, $27,580)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code prowdes that sermces
performed by bhnd or severely disabled persons need not be submitted to competitive btds, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has provided m the City budget for the appropnatlon of
funds to be used for the purchase of the sermces set forth m the proposed contract, NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the City Manager xs hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, a sennce contract, whxch is attached hereto and made a part hereof for all
purposes, that promdes sermces relating to Parks Litter Cleaning with the Texas Indusmes for the
Bhnd and Hanchcapped - Physically Challenges Serrates, Inc, in the amount of $27,580
~ That the award of this contract is based on the sermces under this contract
bexng performed by bhnd or severely disabled persons
~ That this ordinance shall become effecUve lmmedmtely upon its passage
and approval
