AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR SERVICES
PERFORMED BY BLIND OR SEVERELY DISABLED PERSONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE PROVISIONS OF STATE LAW EXEMPTING SUCH PURCHASES FROM
REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
(FILE 2353 - PURCHASE ORDER 93589, TEXAS INDUSTRIES FOR THE BLIND AND
HANDICAPPED - PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SERVICES, INC FOR PARKS
RESTROOM CLEANING, $17,730)
WHEREAS, Section 252 022 of the Local Government Code provides that
services performed by blind or severely disabled persons need not be submitted to
competitive bids, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has provided in the City budget for the
appropriation of funds to be used for the purchase of the services set forth in the proposed
contract, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAiNS
SECTION I That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of
the City of Denton, Texas, a service contract, which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof for all purposes, that provides serrates relating to Parks Restroom Cleamng with
the Texas Industries for the Blind and Handicapped - Physically Challenged Sermces,
Inc, in the mount of $17,730
SECTION II That the award of flus contract is based on the services under this
contract being performed by blind or severely disabled persons
