AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE
WEST SIDE OF BOLIVAR STREET FROM E UNIVERSITY DRIVE TO PEARL STREET,
ON THE EAST SIDE OF AUSTIN STREET FROM OAKLAND STREET TO E PARKWAY
STREET, ON FRAME STREET FROM GROVE STREET TO SCHMITZ STREET AND ON
THE EAST SIDE OF FRAME STREET FROM SCHMITZ STREET TO MINGO ROAD, ON
THE SOUTH SIDE OF SCHMITZ STREET FROM BELL AVENUE TO MINGO ROAD, ON
THE WEST SIDE OF VINE STREET FROM GROVE STREET TO TEXAS STREET, THE
EAST SIDE OF VINE STREET FROM GROVE STREET TO COLLEGE STREET AND THE
EAST SIDE OF VINE STREET FROM TEXAS STREET TO WITHERS STREET, ON
WITHERS STREET FROM OAKLAND STREET TO MINGO ROAD, REPEALING THE
ANGLE PARKING DESIGNATION ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF OAKLAND STREET FROM
AUSTIN STREET TO 160 FEET EAST OF AUSTIN STREET, PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE, PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
~ When signs or markings are in place gxvmg notice thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle at any tame upon the followmg street in the City of Denton
A On west sade of Bohvar Street from ~ts ~ntersectlon with E University Drive to xts
intersection w~th Pearl Street (Repealing that portion of Ordinance No 54-3 ~n conflict
herewith)
B On the east s~de of Austin from ~ts ~ntersectlon with Oakland Avenue to its
intersection with E Parkway (Repealing that portion of Ordinance No 54-31 an conflict
herewith)
C On Frame Street from 1ts intersection w~th Grove to its intersection with Schmltz
and on the East Side of Frame Street from its ~ntersection w~th Schmltz to its ~ntersectlon
with Mmgo (Repealing that pomon of Ordinance No 82-64 in conflict herewith)
D On the south sade of Schmltz from ~ts ~ntersectlon with Bell Avenue to its
intersection with Mango (Repeahng that port~on of Ordinance Nos 76-17 and 82-65 in
conflict herewith)
E On the west sade of Vane from 1ts lntersect~on with Grove Street to ~ts intersection
with Texas, on the east sade of Vane from ~ts intersection with Grove Street to tts
intersection with College and on the east sade of V~ne from its intersection with Texas to
its intersection with Withers (Repeahng that portion of Ordinance Nos 76-17 and 82-66
m conflict herewith)
F On W~thers from ~ts intersection with Oakland to its intersection with M~ngo
(Repealing that portion of Ordinance No 92-164 m conflict herewith)
~ Repeahng the des~gnatmn on the south s~de of Oakland Street from its
intersection w~th Austin Street to 160 feet east of Austin Street as Angle Parking of Motor
Vehmles (Repealing that portmn of Ordinance No 89-157 m conflict herewith)
~ The prowsmns of Section I prohibiting the parking of vehmles shall apply
at all times to the designated pomon of the above named street or streets except when it ~s
necessary to stop a vehicle to avmd conflict with other traffic or m comphance wah the direcUon
of a pohce officer or offimal traffic control device
~ That all prowslons of the ordinances of the City of Denton in conflict w~th
the provisions of th~s ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the ordinances of
the City of Denton, not ~n conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, shall remain m full force
and effect
~ That if any prov~smn of th~s ordinance or apphcat~on thereof to any person
or circumstance ~s held invalid, such mvalid~ty shall not affect the other provisions or
applications, and to this end the prows~ons of th~s ordinance are severable
~ Any person adjudged guilty of parking a vehicle in violation of th~s
ordinance shall be gmlty of a misdemeanor and punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hundred
Dollars ($200 00)
~ That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from the
date of ~ts passage, and the City Secretary is hereby d~rected to cause the caption of this
ordinance to be pubhshed twice ~n the Denton Record-Chronicle, the offimal newspaper of the
C~ty of Denton, Texas, w~than ten (10) days of the date of~ts passage
