1999-179AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING COMPETITIVE BIDS AND AWARDING AN ANNUAL
CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF DECORATIVE STREETLIGHT FIXTURES,
PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS THEREFOR, AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE (BID 2365 - DECORATIVE STREETLIGHT FIXTURES AWARDED TO
HADCO IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $320,000)
WHEREAS, the C~ty has sohmted, received and tabulated competitive b~ds for the purchase
of necessary materials, equipment, supplies or services ~n accordance w~th the procedures of STATE
law and City ordinances, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager or a deagnated employee has reviewed and recommended
that the hereto descnbed bids are the lowest responsible b~ds for the materials, eqmpment, supphes
or services as shown in the "Bid Proposals" submitted therefore, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Cotmcfl has promded m the City Budget for the appropriation of funds
to be used for the purchase of the materials, equipment, supphes or serwces approved and accepted
here~n, NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION I That the numbered ~tems in the following numbered b~ds for materials,
eqmpment, supphes, or services, shown ~n the "B~d Proposals" or plans and specfficatlons on file
~n the Office of the City's Purchasing Agent filed according to the b~d number assigned hereto, are
hereby accepted and approved as being the lowest responsible bids for such ~tems

SECTION II That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered ~tems of the
submitted bids, the C~ty accepts the offer of the persons submitting the b~ds for such items and

specifications, standards, quantities and for the specffied sums contained ~n the Bid Inwtat~ons, B~d
Proposals, and related documents
SECTION III That should the City and persons submitting approved and accepted items
and of the submitted bids w~sh to enter into a formal written agreement as a result of the acceptance,
approval, and awarding of the b~ds, the City Manager or h~s designated representative is hereby
authorized to execute the written contract whmh shall be attached hereto, prowded that the written
contract is ~n accordance with the terms, conditions, specifications, standards, quantities and
specified sums contmned ~n the Bid Proposal and related documents here~n approved and accepted
SECTION IV That by the acceptance and approval of the above numbered items of the
submitted b~ds, the C~ty Council hereby authorizes the expen&ture of funds therefor in the mount
and ~n accordance w~th the approved b~ds or pursuant to a written contract made pursuant thereto as
authorized here~n
SECTION V That tfus ordinance shall become effective immediately upon ~ts passage and
approval
