1999-238AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR
TEMPORARY ZONING TO AGRICULTURAL (A) ZONING DISTRICT
CLASSIFICATION AND USE DESIGNATION FOR ANNEXED PROPERTY TRACT
#1 FOR APPROXIMATELY 1,952 ACRES, LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWESTERN
EDGE OF THE CITY OF DENTON'S EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION,
BETWEEN CRAWFORD ROAD AND LIVELY ROAD, APPROXIMATELY 5,800
FEET WEST FROM 1-35W, AND EAST OF FLORENCE ROAD, PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY IN THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $2,000 00 DOLLARS FOR ANY
VIOLATION THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the C~ty of Denton on May 25, 1999 on final reading annexed the
property designated as "Tract #1" and more partmularly described ~n Exhibit A, and
WHEREAS, the proper development of the annexed property has not yet been
determined and has not been permanently zoned, and
WHEREAS, the pohcy of the C~ty of Denton ~s to temporarily zone annexed
property Agricultural (A), until permanent zomng is determined, and
WHEREAS, after a pubhc hearing on May 19, 1999, the C~ty of Denton Planning
and Zomng Commxss~on recommended temporary zomng of "Tract #1" to Agricultural
(A) zoning by a vote of 7-0, and
WHEREAS, the C~ty Cotmc~l finds that the zomng will be ~n comphance w~th the
1988 Denton Development Plan and the 1998 Denton Plan Pohc~es, NOW,
THEREFORE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY ORDAINS
SECTION 1 That the zomng d~stnct classfficat~on and use designation of Tract
#1 cons~stmg of approxxmately 1952 acres described ~n the legal descnpt~on attached
hereto and ~ncorporated here~n as Exlub~t A, ~s classffied as Agncultural (A) zomng
d~stnet classffieat~on and use designation under the comprehensive zomng ordinance of
the C~ty of Denton, Texas
SECTION 2 That the C~ty's offimal zomng map is amended to show the zomng
district classfficatlon
SECTION 3 That any person wolat~ng any provision of th~s orthnance shall,
upon conwctlon, be fined a sum not exceedmg $2,000 00 Each day that a prows~on of
th~s ordinance ~s wolated shall constitute a separate and d~st~nct offense
SECTION 4 That th~s ordinance shall become effective fourteen (14) days from
the date of its passage, and the C~ty Secretary ~s hereby thrected to cause the caption of
thru ordinance to be pubhshed twice ~n the Denton Record~Chromcle, a dmly newspaper
pubhshed ~n the C~ty of Denton, Texas, w~th~n ten (10) days of the date of~ts passage
