Oreetings;:
WHEREAS, the University of North Texas, located in the City of Denton, is a nationally recognized public
research university and a cornerstone of the city's identity, contributing significantly to the
educational, cultural, and economic vitality of the region while advancing a bold vision for the
future through its Look North 2030 strategic plan;and
WHEREAS, the University of North Texas will host the Annual Alumni Professionals of Texas Conference
from February 1 through February 3,welcoming alumni relations,advancement.and engagement
professionals from across the state and surrounding regions to gather in Denton for professional
development, collaboration, and the sharing of innovative practices that strengthen institutions of
higher education;and
WHEREAS, hosting the Alumni Professionals of Texas Conference is a notable distinction for both the
University of North Texas and the City of Denton,as UNT has not hosted this statewide convening
in many years, and the conference brings meaningful economic impact, statewide visibility, and
professional recognition to the community while showcasing Denton as a destination for
leadership,learning,and innovation.
NOW,THEREFORE, I, Gerard Hudspeth, Mayor of the City of Denton, Texas, do hereby declare and proclaim the V-
3rd day of February 2026 as
"ALUMNI PROFESSIONALS OF TEXAS CONFERENCE DAYS"
in the City of Denton and extend a warm welcome to all attendees,commending the University
of North Texas for its leadership in hosting this important gathering and celebrating the
continued partnership between the university and the City of Denton in advancing education,
community,and opportunity.
