Public Meetings & Agendas | Denton, TX (civicplus.com) General Information & Status Updates A. Best of 2025 Denton County Award Winner – The Beneficial Reuse program, Dyno Dirt, has been recognized as the Best of 2025 Denton County Award Winner in the Mulch Supplier category. This designation is based on verified Google Review data analyzed and certified by Business Rate, which provides data-driven ranking and review management services for local businesses. This award is part of the Business Rate Best of 2025 Awards, highlighting local leaders in customer satisfaction, brand reputation, and service excellence. The recognition reflects Dyno Dirt’s strong performance and feedback of its customers. Staff contact: Stephen Gay, Water Utilities and Street Operations B. Economic Development Annual Report – The 2025 Annual Report (Attachment A) showcases a landmark year for Denton’s growth, defined by aggressive recruitment and high-impact investment. Over the past year, the City successfully facilitated the creation of 392 new jobs and secured a total capital investment of $344.5 million. To drive this momentum, staff remained highly active in the competitive market, managing a robust volume of Requests for Information (RFIs) and representing Denton at major industry conferences and tradeshows focused on our targeted growth sectors. Locally, the department hosted various workshops and events designed to empower the Denton business community and foster innovation. Staff contact: Brittany Sotelo, Economic Development C. Denton Main Street Quarterly Report – The latest quarterly report (Attachment B) for the Main Street Program highlights the continued vitality of the City’s downtown core through strategic reinvestment and targeted business support. A key component of this success is the Downtown Reinvestment Grant Program, which provides critical funding for projects to enhance building facades, signage, interior improvements, and the installation of modern fire suppression systems. In addition, the report tracks the district's Business Vitality and engagement in business retention, expansion, and recruitment. As a reminder, the City of Denton remains a Nationally Accredited Main Street America program, a prestigious designation that reflects our unwavering commitment to preservation-based economic development. Staff contact: Kristen Pulido, Economic Development D. Zipline Drone Delivery Launch – Walmart is officially set to launch drone delivery services via Zipline from their North Denton location on University Drive. To provide a firsthand look at this technology, Zipline hosted a live flight demonstration at North Lakes Park on March 23. Members of the City Council and staff observed the precision of the Zipline platform, which is designed to provide rapid delivery for residents. This launch marks a significant step in continuing to grow and promote autonomous technology initiatives in the City of Denton. Staff contact: Brittany Sotelo, Economic Development 2 E. STULZ Lonestar Expansion – The momentum of Denton’s industrial sector was on full display as STULZ Lonestar celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Denton facility. Demonstrating confidence in our local workforce and business climate, STULZ announced a new expansion into an adjacent building from their current facility, poised to create additional job opportunities. This milestone reinforces Denton’s status as a premier destination for advanced manufacturing and innovation, a reputation recently highlighted by recognition in the 2025 Governor’s Cup. The expansion ensures high-quality job growth and strengthens our position as a regional hub for specialized infrastructure cooling solutions. Staff contact: Brittany Sotelo, Economic Development 3 Responses to Council Member Requests for Information A. Street Sweeping Schedule – On March 12, Council Member Holland shared an inquiry regarding the schedule for street sweeping on local streets. The City does not have a specific daily street sweeping schedule. However, the entire City is covered once every two to three months, depending on staffing and debris. Throughfares are swept weekly, and bike lanes are swept every two weeks. Additionally, Street Operations coordinate with Solid Waste and Recycling, so trash collection and street sweeping are not performed in the same neighborhood on the same day. Staff contact: Stephen Gay, Water Utilities and Street Operations 4 Upcoming Community Events and Public Meetings Please visit the City of Denton website for upcoming community events and details.
